Ocean Jasper is only found on the north west corner of Madagascar. It is called
Ocean Jasper because the deposits are part of the coastline, and can only be reached by boat, and removed only during low tide. This stone is immediately recognizable by its concentric rings of color, earning at the name “Orbicular Ocean Jasper.” The most common colors are greens and whites, with the less common colors of pinks and yellows also appearing in some specimens.

In 2006 the last specimen from the deposit was mined. The deposit was followed from the beach into the side of the hill for about 40 meters. As the deposit was followed it became a large tube like formation, extending straight into the host rock. The jasper deposit became thinner as work progressed. The mine is now depleted. The search for new deposits is on going but nothing has been found.

About Imperial Topaz – History and Introduction

Imperial topaz is also known as “precious topaz”. It is the most sought after natural topaz. Considered to be the color of the setting sun, imperial topaz gets its name from the Russian Tsars of the 17th century. This is because the tsars claimed exclusive rights to the pink topaz gemstones that were mined in Russia. Imperial topaz is less common than other types of naturally occurring topaz, which makes it more valuable. Imperial topaz was traditionally considered to be orange with red dichroism, (this means that when tilted in the light, imperial topaz can appear red or orange), but nowadays it is more widely defined as yellow, pink, red, lavender-pink and peach-pink topaz.

A “stone of good fortune”, Imperial Topaz has been credited with bringing prosperity and abundance to the wearer. Imperial Topaz is supportive of visualization, manifestation, creativity and generosity, which will attract prosperity into one’s life. Imperial Topaz facilitates strengthening of the personal will, as long as it is aligned with the highest good. Meditating with Imperial Topaz can assist one in synchronizing thoughts and actions with intention, to help with the manifestation of desires and goals. Imperial Topaz is especially good for those who feel they have lost their faith, as it will bring Divine energies from the Crown Chakra into the Heart and Solar Plexus Chakras.

The Golden Rays of Imperial Topaz will recharge the holder, both physically and spiritually. Imperial Topaz will help to attract teachers and mentors into your life at the exact time they are needed. This Topaz will allow you to overcome self imposed limitations, helping to recognize your abilities and move forward with generosity and an open heart.

Physically, vibrant, golden-colored Topaz (Imperial Topaz) is beneficial for general health as well as for eyesight. Golden Topaz can bring healing to ailments of the endocrine glands, gallbladder, liver, and kidneys. Golden Topaz can be placed in body-layouts, on affected areas, and can also work well in manifestation grids.

It brings tranquility and a calming effect to the whole being, with particular focus on the throat chakra and the third eye. It stimulates communication and psychic awareness on all levels. It dispels anger and frustration and helps to facilitate clarity with respect to mental awareness and linear reasoning. It induces one to persevere in activities and situations, which would, generally, reduce one’s strengths; it provides a stimulating energy and supports one in the continuation of projects.
